Four years of research had led up to this moment, hours of searching microfilms, microfiche, parish registers, grave transcriptions, and burial maps, but then it was found.  The grave holds the bodied of

William Stephenson, who was Robert D’Onston Stephenson’s grandfather,

Annie Lambert, who was William Stephenson’s sister,

Richard Stephenson, who was Robert D’Onston Stephenson’s father,

Isabella Stephenson, who was Robert D’Onston Stephenson’s mother,

Mary Ann Gladstone, who was Richard Stephensonson’s sister, therefore Robert D’Onston Stephenson’s aunt.

With the names, maps and plans, plus Grave and Compartment numbers in hand we searched for the elusive grave, but alas, it was not to be found, instead we were told that Hull City Council had “cleared” the cemetery, and removed several grave stones.

A sad state of affairs, but here are some photo’s of the trip.
