The main topic in the British press on September 9^th 1888 was the murder of Annie Chapman, which in some publications, including The Lloyd’s Weekly Newspaper, as the fourth murder, being as it followed Emma Elizabeth Smith, Martha Tabram, and Mary Ann Nichols.  The same publication also asked “Why not try bloodhounds?”  A question that would soon be answered….
