    Death:
    Quarter 2 1896 Hampstead

    Because of her early death she is only listed in one census:
    1891:
    Gravel Hill, Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire
    Head: John Lane aged 57 born Amersham - Agricultural labourer
    Wife: Sarah Lane aged 50 born Chalfont
    Children:
    Alice aged 16
    Albert aged 18 - Agricultural labourer
    Lily aged 10
    Kate aged 8
    Nelson aged 4
    All born in Chalfont

    The surname of Ann’s last employer’s is spelt differently in the 1901 census:

    Head: Edward Mackie aged 48 born Hardingstone, Northants. - Estate agent
    Wife: Midley (sic) A Mackie aged 49 born Liverpool
    Children:

    Jane Patton aged 41 born Coverham, Lincs - Professional nurse

    Jessie A Rolfe aged 22 born Hardingstone

    The family is listed in 1891 as follows:

    Head: Edward Mackie aged 38 born Hardingstone - Land agent
    Wife: Tindley (sic) A Mackie aged 39 born Liverpool
    Children:
    Frederick aged 16 born Liverpool - Architectural student
    Eveline A aged 15 born Rainhill
    Edward P aged 14 born Harrow
    Boarder:
    John H Stokes aged 18 born North East Province, India - Student of medicine
    Servants:
    Elizabeth Nicholson aged 19 born Salford - Cook
    Eliza Larkin aged 15 born Bushey Heath - Housemaid

    The family are listed at the same address (14 Alexandra Road) in 1881 and again the wife’s name is given as Tindley.

    The Mackies were married in Liverpool in 1873, where the wife’s maiden name is given as Tindley Anne Planche.
